Tech Help Macc ("we", "us") provides computer repair and remote support services. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Tech Help Macc · 07745 551731 · info@techhelpmacc.co.uk

What we collect

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message you choose to give us. We don't collect anything beyond what you type into that form.

Like most websites, we also use Google Analytics to see general, anonymised information about how the site is used — things like which pages are visited and roughly how many visitors we get. This doesn't identify you personally.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange computer repair or remote support.
  • To understand how our website is used, so we can keep it useful and working well.

Who we share it with

Contact form submissions are sent to us by email from our own website, using Google’s Gmail service. Messages that our spam filter flags are not emailed; they’re kept in a private file on our web server so we can check nothing genuine was caught by mistake. Website analytics are processed by Google. We do not sell or pass on your details to anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and keep basic business records, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. To do any of this, just contact us using the details above.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Our free Learn tools

Tech Help never saves or sees the passwords made or checked on this website. Under no circumstances is a password you generate with our password generator, or type into our password checker, saved, sent anywhere, or able to be checked by Tech Help. Both tools run entirely in your own web browser. Nothing you type or generate is sent to us, logged, or stored in cookies or your browser’s storage, and it’s gone as soon as you leave or refresh the page. That also means we can’t look up or recover a password for you, so save it in your password manager or write it down somewhere safe.

The strength checking uses zxcvbn, a free, open-source tool that we host on our own website, so no other company sees what you type either. Google Analytics records that the page was visited, as it does for any page, but not what you type into it.

Our other Learn tools, such as the scam quiz and the broadband and drive size calculators, don’t collect any personal information. The “How big is a gigabyte?” tool remembers the broadband and storage you picked, in your own browser only, so they’re still set next time you visit. That stays on your device and we can’t see it.

Cookies

This site uses standard analytics cookies (via Google) to help us understand site usage. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
